A little help please

Hi, Over the past 5 - 6 weeks I have had trouble bending my left ring finger past a certain point in the mornings. However, I have no trouble with putting it straight or bending it to that certain point. I'm not sure what this means as I have not had it checked yet. The reason I suspect Dupuytrens is that I am a diabetic and it seems to increase my chances of developing it. Does this sound like Dupuytrens to you?
Thanks for any help.
Mike

A little help please

Hi, mike.
my name is eddie and i am from ireland.

The system they have here for checking what it is, is apauling, maybe because i am really young who knows?

What age are you? has the middle pip joint swollen?

is there a thick band or cord at the base of the baby finger? is there a thickness in skin? Have u gotten any hyper sensitive feelings?

Well if you can answer any of these for me i would be greatfull.

Warm regards Eddie

A little help please

Hi Eddie,
There are no lumps or nodes on my skin. Tooday it got that little bit harder to straighten my finger or make a fist. There is no swelling as far as I can tell. I am 28 years old. There is a bone just below my finger in my palm and that seems to be the sorest point. What do you think?
I am going to the doctor on 30th June because she told me to leave it a few weeks. I was just hoping to know what to expect. I play the guitar and love it, so if it is dupuytrens I may accept the fact that my guitar playing days could be over! Thanks Mike.

dupuytrens does to me

heya mike,
Yep you got what they call nodules these are the sign of dupuytrens disease.

When you go to the doctor she will tell you what it is. Surgery will not be done until the finge is bent beyond 30 digrees.

I have it in 2 fingers in my right hand and always giving me trouble. My next step is surgery. And it is all i can do.

I dont mean to worry you. But you can always privatley talk to me in emails.

you can get me at melgip2000@yahoo.com

I like to help those in need and i take it you are no diffrent.

Warm regards mike

dupuytrens does to me

sorry, didnt read ur post right.

Ok, what i figure your doctor will do is send you to a orthopedic surgeon. He will then tell you to go for an EMG test to make sure it is not Crpel tunnel.

Might i say i found the EMG test rather painfull :(

Again u can email me :)

dispair and options

Hi; loss of function is alarming, especially, when
accompanied by pain. Start with the link below for
information. If you are already beyond that point.
have a consult with an NA practioner nearest you.
The names are available on the link or elsewhere (if
you have trouble locating names, many of us can help.)
Read the info prvided by the link. connect from there.
If you are penniless. you have a temporary problem
at worst. Decide if the problem merits some form of
gainful employment. No hand-outs exists. Hope this is
helpful. (Just do it!)

Thanks

I am going to my G.P tomorrow and she is sending me for x-rays to rule out fractures etc. Then if that is clear we'll go from there.
Thanks again everyone.
