Last Sunday this time I was in Jupiter Fl eagerly anticipating my appt with Dr. Eaton on Monday morning. I was apprehensive and yet exicted about treatment. My appt was Monday at 10am......and would you believe I was driving myself back to the airport at 10:45. And yes I did see my hand FLAT on the table before I left his office. There was a little pain but nothing to compare with the awful time I was having with daily chores. I had two tiny puntures into the skin to cut the cords and I had two small skin tears. Dr Eaton says that this sometimes happens but it was nothing much worse than a really bad paper cut. In the week since the procedure my hand has almost completely healed up and I am back doing almost everything as before. Only thing I wont do is shake hands yet. Dr. Eaton advised me not to lift anything heavy for a couple weeks but I have been out working in the yard and doing chores that required lifting and no bad results. I do have to wear a splint to bed for a couple of months. If anyone is thinking about going the surgery route instead of this, you really need to reconsider. I paid for this entire process out of my pocket...procedure $700...air fare $235...hotel $100...rental car $40....and would do it again without hesitation. Dr. Eaton says waiting until the disease has progressed is not advisable with NA. Getting the procedure done earlier is better. I am thankful for this doctor and for this board otherwise I would have had to go the surgery route.
