Just got an appointment
I've been reading this board for months and finally made the decision to see Dr. Bourland. My appointment is in early March.
My contractions are severe (left pinkie at about 110 degrees and right pinkie at 90 degrees), so I'm not certain that NA can help me, but having had the traditional invasive procedure a few years ago, I'm willing to try just about anything before going through that again.
Meantime, has anyone heard of NA being successful with this degree of contracture?

Had My First NA Treatment Yesterday
Dr. Bourland performed the NA treatment on my left hand pinkie yesterday, and successfully released both contractures.
As of this morning, the feeling had returned to my pinkie and I'm in no discomfort whatsoever.
My pinkie is heavily scarred from the traditional surgical procedure I had in 2000, and the scarring presented some problems in that my skin split on the scar - a small split, but I'm to wear a bandage for a week and keep my hand dry.
Other than that - no problem! When you compare wearing a bandage for a week to the extensive recovery period of the traditional route, NA is a really wonderful alternative.
I have another appointment with Dr. Bourland in three weeks to determine the progress of my left hand. If my progress is satisfactory, he will release my right hand pinkie three weeks or so later.
Having had both the surgical and the NA treatment, in my case I can definitely say that NA is the way to go for me.
If anyone is considering a trip to Memphis, I'll be glad to provide the details of my experience - just send an e-mail to my address at the top of this post.
Thanks, Dr. Bourland!
