Surgery

It is my understanding that Eddie does not require financial help for surgery, it is covered under his health plan that is paid by the state.

This money would be used strickly for NA and travel costs to receive NA.

Wow. Once again, this is amazing. I have to remind everyone Eddie has to see his orthopedic surgeon....we still need to get a proper estimate of total costs to see if this could become a reality.

Cheers for now. Anon.

Eddie

I really want to help Eddie. I will , however have to have documentation of the charges and cost. You know, we have to know what is the Real Deal here. I would even give more money , if, I knew, it was the real thing, and Ed will go to France. I would pay another $100 to keep him from this terrible surgery. I will not pay for the hacking up of his hands by this surgeon. I will do what I can for NA for you Eddie. If this is real, let's all help him.

France

Hey, Let's just get him there. His insurance will cover the rest. Let's just get him to France. I am willing to do that. This is so nice, that people in here are willing to do that. I am waiting for the last thing to make me go to Florida. I will however, go to my hand surgeon, and take all of the information I have, and say " This is what I have chosen to do" I don't want this surgery, and I , am going to go to Florida.
Best to you all,
Patty

Eddie~sq~s Insurance

Hi Patty,

Thank you for your willingness to donate.

Eddie's insurance will not pay for NA - just surgery - which is why I posted both costs, and yes, you are quite correct, we need documentation, that is why I asked for a letter to be sent from the orthopedic surgeon to the NA doctor of his choice. I figure money for the NA could be sent directly to the doctor, and the money for the traveling costs could be handled by a third party whose credentials we could check ie: doctor, local Kiwanis Club, headmaster/principal of his school, priest/minister, travel agency....etc... This means the amount of money handled by the third party wouldn't be a lot so there wouldn't be a big risk to all of us.

Last night I also realized that Eddie will probably require a passport... so we might have to cover this as well.

I emailed Eddie yesterday asking him to 1) send a picture of his hands to Paris, 2) request an estimate, and 3) get a tentative appointment time as this will affect traveling costs - we are getting into tourist season.

Today is his appointment with the orthopedic surgeon, he will probably make his decision after that.

Cheers to everyone,

Revised Donations

George $ 50....................George $ 50
Patty: $100..........Or....... Patty: $200
Randy: $100................... Randy: $100
Anon $100................... Anon: $100
_____ _____
$350 .........or...............$450

Kristen: $ for Dr. L
Charlie: $ Unknown
Don Weston: $ Unknown

If Kristen is correct about the over all costs being around $700, then we are getting close to the mark, but if I am correct and the over all costs are around $1500, then we are well on our way. The difference in our calculations is the cost for NA, Kristen who has experience with Dr. L is certain the costs will be well below my estimate of $1000. That would be great. :-)

Hope you all have a great day.

$$$ for NA

I am certain of the charges. I've been to both Drs. Badois and Lellouche, who last time were charging 180 euros per finger. Dr. Lermusiaux has been charging 50 - 60 euros per finger - don't ask me why he doesn't charge more - he certainly could. I am flying to Paris tomorrow and have an appointment with Dr. L on Thursday, the 18th, at which time I'll be able to verify the cost. Kristen
