Health Insurance

Heya all.
Was thinking. I am finding it hard to come to terms with your more than generous offer. But what i have decided to do is take out health insurance. I am taking it out on false pretences as i know for a face that if something legal comes of it i am well in the clear.

But if the Vhi are not willing to take my problem and cover the cost it looks like my only alternative is to take up your mare than ample.

I have a huge burden on my sholder on what to do. I could just go for surgery, hopeing that it will be a success. But i guess it is about the luck of the draw i am guessing.

It is great the support you are doing and i do not mean to whack you off with a stick. Just my personal feelings are getting to involved in the way.

My best friend who also has this diseas was ushering me to go to France and get it done. But i really have not made a heart descision on weather i want to meadel in the occurance of my hand.

Warm regards Eddie.

Well, I just wrote Eddie. I am trying the best I can to talk him into this. So is his friend, I gather. I think he is uncertian, and frightened right now. I am sure he will sleep on this. This is the , most , important thing right now, for him to do for his quality of life in the present, and for his future. I think that plane fair is really low, and a good price. WE have that covered. Let's hope for the best.

Eddie,

Yep, the idea that a bunch of mostly Americans would want to put up cash so you can travel to France to avoid surgery has got to seem quite strange. If I were your age and in your position I'd be unsure what to do. This might help:

Having been through surgery, many of us are very grateful for finding this site and having a much better solution and future for our hands and lives. I think that gratitude is motivating us to want to help you. We know the younger you start having Dups surgery, the worse the long term outlook is. Please let us help you avoid this.

surgery

You know, I have not had the surgery yet, as , I found this sight right after I was diagnosed. I will, however go back to my hand surgeon, and tell him, that I have opted for a different treatment. Eddie, You can do the same. It is easy. Just say " No, I chose to take a different way out of this." I know you are young, but now is the time to stand up, and say " I question a doctor's opinion, and, I have done my own resurch, and i choose my own treatment" Just cause a doctor says something, does not mean it is right. We all need to take our own resurch, and notes, and questions, to any doctor we go to. I went through 5 doctors to find out why I had such terrible back pain. I went though 2 MRIs and 3 epidural injections to ease the pain. Every doctor I went to said, they could see Nothing in the MRI s or Xrays Guess what? I took all of my files, after a year and a half, and hardly being able to walk or stand anymore, and went to a doctor that I Chose.. a neurologist. I was only in his office for 10 min. and he said " You have a cyst sitting on your spinal cord" My point is, the right doctor, can save your life. You just don't listen to some doctor tell you how it is going to be. they were going to send me to a pain clinic, and put a permanent bag with a tube on my side for injections for pain. I had the appointment, but cancelled. I guess the thing is, you keep your own mind about you, and keep looking for the right solution. Don't settle, and don't do what some doctor tells you, right off the bat. As it was, I had one little day surgery, and all of it was gone. I have been fine every since. God, I could have a bag on my side, and been in a wheelchair at this point, had I not done my own resurch, and gone to the doctor I chose. The same thing follows here...You can opt for the long term illness, or you can opt for a permanent soultion.
God Bless, Patty

Paris and back -same day !

Heya all,
Slept queit bad last nite so forgive spelling errors etc...
I am thinking long and hard on what to do. I sent a email to Patty just saying what the situation is.

I have a very close friend who suffers from this same condition he is the same age as me but his onset was when he was much younger (13-15) if i can remember it properly.

When i look at his hands how there does not seem to be a improvement in his hand. He says the reason for not being back to normal is due to him not doing the excercises asked by the therpaist.

At first he was urging me to go for surgery. Which at first i thought was my only option. Then i told him what a huge deed people on this forum are doing by pledging money to get me to france. He told me go to France and get it done there.

The only question i have is that if i was to go for surgery and it was a success. But down the road the diseas came back. Would it be possible to get the NA done then?

And the other question was that when getting NA done does it leave holes in your hand? i was looking at the pictures and there was 3 holes. something i do not want :(

please do not see me as being ignorant, i have millions of thoughts going through my head. Because i am 18 i have to take at least another 40 years of my life into consideration.

Hope to hear from you all soon.

Warm regards eddie.

@ Anon
Heya m8 just went through the posts last night. I missed the bit where you said

4) We posters would probably like to see a confirmation letter sent from your orthopedic surgeon or family doctor to the NA doctor to confirm that you are a student. :-) For all we really know....you could be some crackpot sitting in a giant clown suit!

Tell me what i need to do and i will have no problem doing it.

Thanks again m8 Eddie
