DC in feet
My husband has what appears to be the begining of DC in his right hand. Is it possible that DC could also appear in his feet? He is scheduled for a surgery to cut tendons to relieve the pressure (drawing up) of the toe, creating a hammer toe. Any information would be appreciated.

cryotherapy
Stephanie,
DC does appear in the feet and also the penis. The penis can be treated with a cream.
In feet it is called "ledderhose disease" and usually occurs as painful nodules on the sole of the foot. This has been treated successfully by a freezing therapy by a physician in New Jersey, here is a link to a webpage about that: http://www.dupuytren-online.info/Cryotherapy.htm
If your husband truly has hammertoes, I think that is a different condition. By all means read everything you can find on the net or wherever, educate yourselves, before he undergoes the knife. In many cases of hand DC, surgery can and does exacerbate the problem, and after surgery has been done, alternative, less drastic treatments are almost impossible to implement. You can't undo surgery, but you can always try alternatives first and use surgery as a last resort.
GOOD LUCK!!!!!!!
