Laser therapy
Recently a Swiss patient mentioned in an e-mail a successful laser therapy for Ledderhose. Pain and size have been reduced significantly. She mentioned that the therapy requires a specific laser that deposits its energy directly under the skin. She now is on holiday but I hope to hear more when she comes back.
I am wondering if anyone else has experience with laser therapy for Ledderhose (or Dupuytren?).

cold laser
Wolfgang,
Thanks for bringing up the laser question!
I've only started researching this and hope to have time to pursue it soon.
So far I've found: Some lasers are referred to as either cold lasers or low level lasers. They are considered quite safe and are not "surgical" in nature. Rather than heat the area, they use light photons to stimulate an area to speed healing.
It has been claimed that they are effective for both Frozen Shoulder and for Dupuytrens IN ITS EARLY PHASE.

Whoops-Cold Laser
Previous message posted itself before I was done, so to continue:
I had a free consultation with a chiropractor in my area recently who has the equipment, mainly about a frozen shoulder, but I also have early stage dups.
I didn't feel comfortable in that setting--some red flags, and I've learned to listen to my intuition--but I believe the technique is probably valid.
I have heard that it has been used a lot in Europe for some time but more recently was approved in the U.S.
I had found an informative website (though commercial) which will give you some information:
http://healthiswealthmaui.com/Laser_Therapy_Home.html.
Then the chiropractor gave me a flyer with this website, WHICH I HAVEN'T YET EVEN LOOKED AT:
www.laser4pain.com
I'll eventually get back to this "project" and see if anyone else in my area does this.
Meanwhile you might want to explore this, or if anyone else out there has info. on cold laser/dups, please let us know!!!

web sites
Susan,
it looks like that the focus of Low Wnergy Laser Therapy is on Carpal Tunnel Syndrom but they claim many other applications, too many for my taste. The most serious site so far might be
http://www.microlightcorp.com/research.asp
healthiswealthmaui.com is beyond what I can bear. I find statements disgusting like "The Q1000 Laser is capable of utilizing and emitting hundreds of specialized frequencies (from 1-20,000 Hz) that are shown below as well as specific well documented healing wavelengths in the red and infrared spectrum including the unique and rare Soliton wave." This is pure speculation on the dumbness of patients.
Yet this does not rule out the effectiveness of laser therapy for Dupuytren or Ledderhose. Let's pursue this!
