Is Radiation Treatment Available In Stockholm, Sweden?
I have just been diagnosed with Dupuytren's but the doctor had never heard of using radiation in the early stages. I would like to attack it now while I am in the early stages. Does anyone know of any medical practitioner here in Stockholm who deals with this disease?

Re: Is Radiation Treatment Available In Stockholm, Sweden?
Hi Katie,
unfortunately we don't know of any hospital in Stockholm offering radiotherapy. But recently I was in contact with Dr. Joerg Witthaut who is currently working at the University of Uppsala. He is a hand surgeon not a radiotherapist but he is very familiar with Dupuytren's and currently involved in the Xiaflex phase 3 trial in Sweden. Maybe he can point you to a colleague in Stockholm. You can send an e-mail to him using info at handbegutachtung.de (you need to replace the at with @ and remove the blanks to get the correct e-mail address). You might mention that you were referred to him by Dupuytren Society.
Good luck!
Wolfgang

Re: Is Radiation Treatment Available In Stockholm, Sweden?
Thanks Wolfgang. I have received a reply back from Dr Witthaut and he suggests that myself and my husband who also has DC make an appointment to met with him in Uppsala. So thankyou once again for passing on the helpful info.

Re: Is Radiation Treatment Available In Stockholm, Sweden?
When YOU are in Sweden, You should also explore a one-day-Flight-trip to Dusseldorf; very close to the City is the Alfried-Krupp-Krankenhaus with a very well known radiation therapist, who has treated several hundreds of patients in early stage M.Dupuytren very successfully. I had very good expereince with his clinic
As far as I recall the Telephone number of the hospital is. +49.201.434-1 or 434-0 Just ask for "strahlentherapie"
A grateful patient named HOLGER (I do not want to be identified due to my professional background risks !)
