is this a DD nodule?
Hi everyone.
If you read my previous post "RT or wait and see" you'll know that I'm currently trying to decide whether to pursue RT for the one major nodule on my right palm before it starts to contract. I have no major obvious chords on this hand but some odd marks that could be early stage DD. My reason for waiting so far is that I don't want to pay for RT only to then get new nodules that can't be treated as RT is a one-time option.
However, in the last 24hrs I've noticed an odd lump in the web of my left thumb and index finger and I'm not sure if it's DD as it is quite large, but only really obvious from the back of my hand. Has anyone else had a similar lump that turned out to be DD? and could a nodule there lead to problems? Or am I just getting paranoid?
I am still torn between getting RT done (at some stage) in England or traveling to Germany. Costs for 1 hand would be quite similar due to extra travel etc getting to Germany, but if 2 hands need treatment, the cost would be much cheaper traveling to Germany. Personally, it seems prof S. Is more likely to spot and treat nodules that others may miss, but my family are keen that any procedure is done in the uk, mainly for follow up reasons.
Any thoughts on this, or other suggestions on how long to wait before RT would be great.
Thanks.

Hi earmonster...
I think that if you are sold on the idea of RT you should go to Germany.......you have the rest of your life to live......I think that if you have RT in the UK and all the disease is not picked up ....and then progresses ......you will question your decision To not make the trip..... For you the trip is soooo easy and relatively cheap....
Best of luck with your choice

Re: is this a DD nodule?
I just returned from my first round of RT with Prof S in Hamburg. I traveled from Canada to have this done. I was amazed at the nodules and cords that he was able to find that I had not been able to find myself. I would recommend him highly. He also examined my feet, and although I do have a nodule in each foot, he did not recommend RT at this time for my Ledderhose as it did not seem to be active currently. I am very glad that I made the trip, as the only advice that I have had from any doctors in Canada was to wait until there was contracture and then NA, Xiaflex or surgery were my options. He is definitely the world expert in this field and after meeting him, I have nothing but confidence in him.
Best of luck with your decision.
