confused:

Hi Flojo ,
Did your doctor say why you shouldn't have nodules get bigger than a marble, cause I have nodules on bottom of both feet and they are both quite large.

confused

My opinion would be to start RT on your foot as soon as there is evidence of active Ledderhose... ie...itching, burning sensation, clear indication that nodules are growing in size or increasing in numbers. In my case all of this occurred and when a second nodule developed right next to the first one, I knew it was time for RT. It has been 3-1/2 yrs and both nodules are 90% gone.... so far so good.

Re: BUMMER - Feels like Ledderhose nodules causing foot pain

My nodules were/are very small, not growing, and not much other evidence of being active. That one foot bothered me at Christmastime when I was on my feet a lot even with wearing 2 different pairs of normally comfortable shoes. That's when I checked my feet and noticed the nodules.

Yes, I am paranoid about any relative of DD, so I had it checked out. Dr. Katerelos wanted me to have a diagnosis and I went to a podiatrist. Dr. K. says RT on the foot or anywhere in the lower extremities is more problematic. I know DD or LD has to be in the active stage for RT to be effective and he needs to know that it is active before doing it. He also said he would specifically target the nodules and would not do a margin on the feet like he did on my hand. He does an MRI to locate the affected tissue. So he would want it when it is active but not wait until it is a large nodule. I'm checking them and nothing is changing so far. Maybe I'll be lucky with this.

They worked hard to get Medicare to pay for RT on my hand and he said getting them to pay for RT on Ledderhose would be more difficult. They'd need a clearly active disease to help with justifying insurance payment, too.
