Ledderhose = plantar fasciitis?
Maybe this question is answered elsewhere, but I looked around some and didn't find it.
Anyway, the question is, can Ledderhose be misdiagnosed as plantar fasciitis?
I ask, because I have mild Dupuytren in my hands (treated a few years back with NA), and there are lumps in my feet which seem to me to be just more of the same.
In the past six months, I have developed chronic pain in my heels with all the symptoms you see online for plantar fasciitis, but I'm wondering if it isn't actually Ledderhose? I haven't seen a doctor yet about the pain in my heels.
Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

Re: Ledderhose = plantar fasciitis?
"Anyway, the question is, can Ledderhose be misdiagnosed as plantar fasciitis? " Sure, in 1894 that had happened to Georg Ledderhose himself (the guy who first described this disease). Only a few years later he decided it might be connected to Dupuytren's.
But chronic pain in the heels might have other reasons as well, e.g. a heel spur. You should not diagnose this yourself but go see a doctor.

Re: Ledderhose = plantar fasciitis?
The classic symptom for plantar fasciitis is severe pain below the heel when you get up in the morning and take the first step. But since you have lumps too, Wolfgangs advice to see a doc is the right one.
I had plantar fasciitis for nearly two years, tried all the conservative suggestions to resolve it, including ice, stretching, rolling, and so on, I also wore a 'night boot' to bed which does help quite a bit. In the end it resolved itself. Interestingly they treat it in Germany with RT, but I did not consider that for myself.

Re: Ledderhose = plantar fasciitis?
Last week I was getting RT on my hands in Hamburg. During our discussions, Dr. S. mentioned that Ledderhose can lead to plantar fasciitis.
