Natural Remedies For Ledderhose

I had bunion surgery a few years ago, and later I discovered I had several painful nodules at the bottom of my foot. My orthopaedic surgeon, who specializes in the foot, diagnosed my condition right away. He strongly suggested I do not have surgery because the nodules may grow back larger the second time and create even more problems. I am comfortable wearing my New Balance athletic shoes. I do kickboxing three times a week and personal training two times a week. It is too painful on my foot to work with free weights. To alleviate the pain I have had 15 minute reflexology sessions on my foot twice a week. Another thing that really helps is to sit and rub my foot vigorously over a golf ball for an extended period of time. I'm 60 years old, and I don't want this condition to get worse. Does anyone have anymore suggestions for a natural treatment? I detect the nodules are appearing on my other foot.

Re: Natural Remedies For Ledderhose

Carol, interesting enough you are not the only one who reports that massaging the nodules with a ball helps to keep the nodules soft and maybe even shrink them. Other people used a wooden ball but I guess the material isn't that important. Probably it only needs to be a hard material instead of a soft one. Maybe we should recommend that as initial treatment for nodules. One patient even reported it worked for Dupuytren cords in the hand. All üatients who reported success also mentioned that the massaging needs to be done over a longer time and daily. Interesting.

Re: Natural Remedies For Ledderhose

Carol, how would you describe the effect of your massages? Did the nodules become softer, smaller or did they stay the same but the pain was less? Or do they grow more slowly when massaged?

Just curious

Re: Natural Remedies For Ledderhose

When I work the golf ball around the nodules, it feels good. The nodules haven't changed in size, but they don't appear to be growing larger. I am very active on my feet when I kick box. I get the feeling that I am stimulating these nodules, and that helps my condition. No one I know is in this situation, so the forum is helpful.

Re: Natural Remedies For Ledderhose

Several people had reported that dancing helped them to control their Ledderhose. You are adding kick boxing to the list of remedies. Good!
