Just a few lines to let everyone know about my outcome on Surgery for Ledderhose. The lump started to grow back only 3 weeks after Surgery. Today I go to physical Therapy again, my previous Therapist has moved and the ladies don't have the strength. So I bought several different types of woodenballs and did some hard agressive massage. It was very painful and I do not recomend this to everyone. I also bought woodenshoes and walked many miles every day. It was painful and again I don't recomend this to everyone. Please check with your doctor before you try this. As for me, it has helped me alot, the nodule has gotten alot smaller, very flattend and the tissue so far remains soft and flexable. Now, when I put on my soft tennisshoe I feel like I'm walking on a cloud. Please don't try this as it is very painful. Check with your doctor first. This is not recomended for everyone.

Hi, thanks for your reply. Yes, intense pressure or massage I believe is the key. It worked for me. I was very afraid when I found out that surgery had failed. I have done alot of research and I have contacted many doctors and surgeons. I heard everything from injections to cryotherapy and have set up and canceld appointments because most don't do cryosurgery for plantar fibromas or have stoped doing it for some reason they would not say. No one was able to help me. There I was with this big, painful lump as hard as a rock. Selfhelp was my only help. I was in alot of pain, the tissue was so swollen and inflammed but with help of Ibuprofen and some pain meds I have gotten from my doc. I got over it. The skin of my foot was very soft after surgery and tore open when I did the intense massage. I let it heal and then slowly startet up again. The skin got harder and the lump softer. I always put some type of oil or lotion on it before I began the massage. The massage I did for 2 to 3 hours every day for several weeks and I also walked many miles daily with my woodenshoes. Now when I put on my soft Tennis shoe, I feel like I'm walking on a cloud. I was told by one Surgeon from the University of Wisconsin, that fibromas burn out within a year of two. I don't think mine is going to grow anymore as I aggrivated it to the max. I can walk in all shoes, go barefoot and stand on a ladder all day without pain. Yes, I had to clean the siding of my house and I had to stand on a ladder for full 4 days before the job was done. I noticed no pain in my foot, exept in my shoulder . I can live with this.
