R/T - Can It Make It Worse?
Has anyone heard of radiation treatments of the hand making Dupuytrens worse? Or is there no worry at all about that!.......also, if it does not work, can the other alternative treatments be successful afterward?

Re: R/T - Can It Make It Worse?
Someone on this forum has posted their regret at having RT, as for them it was not successful. I believe the studies show a 15% failure rate, maybe more.

Re: R/T - Can It Make It Worse?
The probability for success (defined as either regression or no more progression) strongly depends on the stage of the disease and on the time of Treatment (which might be related). For example, if treated within the first year after the nodule appeared, the failure rate is in the order of only 2 %, after 4 or more years it is above 50% http://www.dupuytren-online.info/radiation_therapy.html.

Re: R/T - Can It Make It Worse?
I haven't read of any cases where RT made DD worse, although it's not always successful. And yes, you can have NA or other procedures after RT.
