Radiotherapy - funding by PCT (UK)
My GP wants to refer me to Poole for radiotherapy for early-stage Dupuytrens, but the Primary Care Trust has refused funding. Does anyone know how to successfully appeal? Time is short, as I understand the radiotherapy has to be done in the early stages to be successful in stopping the condition. Also, does anyone know costs in various countries for the radiotherapy?

Re: Radiotherapy - funding by PCT (UK)
Try contacting Poole directly yourself. As in my case, they may just offer to take you without funding from your local authority. Call 01202 442690 - Office of Dr TD Goode.
Also consider looking through earlier discussion threads on this site e.g. http://www.dupuytren-online.info/Forum_E...php?board=0&thema=292&page=1#0

Many thanks, Phil - you've made my day! Was your treatment successful? I know of several who have had surgical treatment, but no-one for radiotherapy. Would love to hear your experience.

Re: Radiotherapy - funding by PCT (UK)
Sorry about that. No idea why its not being helpful!
Full entry reads: UK treatment of Dupytrens using radiation 04/06/08
Try going to the forum, click on search, type in - UK radiation - and look down the list for the above entry. There are, within these notes, also links (that seem to work) to other useful background reading of real, recent experiences.
