Re: In the middle of radiation treatments for DD and just got diagnosed with Carple Tunnel

Hi All,
Just got back from another hand surgeon His feeling is also a conservative approach for my carpal tunnel, he himself suffers from carpal tunnel and he night splints and stretches and has been able to keep it at bay for many years. He avoids the things that irritates it and goes about it that way.
As far as surgery is concerned for carpal tunnel if need be it can be done. Just like any other part of your body cells renew themselves even after radiation and especially since the radiation is it such a low dose. He is going to go on his forum as a hand surgeon and see if anybody has any protocols as to how long to wait after the radiation for a surgery, just for arguments sake.
Neither him o nor I want to do surgery but he still will look into it for me just in case my carpal tunnel takes a turn for the worse, which we hope it does not. He is confident though that it can be done if necessary .
He said he would also hesitate to do surgery on me for carpal tunnel because he said it could insight more problems With my DD.
So for now I'm going to hang tight do my stretching and use my night splints. Since I have started doing that my carpal tunnel has improved already so hopefully it will keep on improving.
Thank you for all your advice, help and support
Ps: I will also check out Rolfing.
Jeanne
