Re: 80% improvement from enzyme injections after 5 painful years of plantar fibroma
Hi, @Tdayres, @Ida How is Your situation now? I hope the LD is not progressing further and that you are still happy with your situation and in less pain. I too am very active and have plans to do Kilamanjaro this summer howerver my nodules (have on both feet) seem to be growing slightly so I am going to pursue this approach as soon as I get an official diagnosis (hopefully on January 13th). I have orthotics anw will get them adjusted due to the change in size of the nodules. I would greatly appreciate any input you could give, best Celeste

Strongly suggest treatment
Celeste I am happy with the results from the injections. I still have nodules, but they are way less in size and pain than before I started with Dr. Davis. I recommend you try his treatment. It helped me where nothing else worked.

Hi Ida.
Thanks so much for these posts. Any updates? I hope you are doing well and fibromas are a worry of the past!! Also: May I ask how much the procedure cost each time you visited? How big were your nodules when you began the h. injections? Thanks so much!!
Stacey

Re: 80% improvement from enzyme injections after 5 painful years of plantar fibroma
I am still happy with the results from the injections. I still have nodules, but they are flat and soft and normally give me no pain. I've even worn shoes I haven't worn in years. I had 4 treatments with Dr. Davis and they varied in cost from $950 to $1,200 each depending on what was done. They were irregular in shape to start, so I don't know what they measured. An approximate size is the first joint of my thumb. Before the treatment they were hard and painful. I hope this helps. Ida

Re: 80% improvement from enzyme injections after 5 painful years of plantar fibroma
Ida, please, please plan to report back every year or so, so we can have an idea how well this treatment works in the long term. It appears that this long term information is quite lacking for this procedure. Thanks!

Update
Because I've received several queries, I'll provide an update. There's been no change in the nodules in the four months since I last posted. I still have nodules, but they are flat and soft and normally give me no pain. A word of caution before contacting Dr. Davis. Don't start with Dr. Davis unless you have the time and money for 3 visits about 3 - 4 weeks apart. One visit only will be a waste of time and money.

Re: 80% improvement from enzyme injections after 5 painful years of plantar fibroma
Ida, It has been a while since you posted this information, I am curious, are you still feeling success? Is the enzyme injection you refer to the same as cryosurgery? Where is Dr. Davis located and how did you find your physician? I live in MN and I am looking for treatment options in RT, cryosurgery or this enzyme injection that you mention if it something different. Thank you!

Re: 80% improvement from enzyme injections after 5 painful years of plantar fibroma
There's been no change in the nodules since I last posted. My treatment with Dr. Davis was in March, 2016. I still have nodules, but they are flat and soft and normally give me no pain. NancyP - Have you read the first page of this thread? I give a detailed account of the injection vs cryosurgery. In addition I think you should read the thread https://www.dupuytren-online.info/Forum_...on-1_274_5.html It has Dr. Davis' contact info. Good luck, Ida
